Seniors: Miss Lohman will be holding a College Application Workshop on November 5th at 1:30. Any senior who needs help or just haven't started filling out your college applications can attend. The signup sheet is in the Class of 2021 google classroom as well as a list of things that students should know in order to apply. If you have any questions, please see Miss Lohman.

Any junior or senior who would like to meet with the SEMO rep on Thursday during 8th hour needs to sign up on the google sheet in Miss Lohman's google classroom. The link & location for the meeting will be emailed to students Thursday morning.

The 2020 yearbooks are in.   Please stop by the Superintendent’s office to pick them up. Students, please pick them up during your lunch hour or after school.  Do not pick up in between classes or during your class. Thank you.

Are you planning on attending college after high school and wanting to get some general education courses completed at a fraction of the cost at Kaskaskia College? Junior and senior students can take select courses through KC's Foundation After School program in which you will only be responsible for paying for the textbooks and lab fees. Tuition and fees are waived. Students at all grade levels have access to the JumpStart program in which you can take a recommended college course at half the cost of tuition. Registration for KC's Spring semester starts on October 26th. Please see Miss Lohman or Mrs. Jones if you have any questions or would like registration paperwork.

The Media Center is once again hosting a Build-A-Pumpkin contest.  Pumpkins must be decorated based on a book; individual and group entries will be accepted.  All entries should be brought to the media center on Friday, October 30.  They will be judged and prizes will be handed out that day.

The Jostens Cap & Gown presentation is Friday, October 30th at 2:07 PM (During 8th Hour Advisory).   Jostens will return during lunch hours to take orders on November 4th.

Students:  Need an extra hoodie, sweater, or jacket for the cooler weather?  Come shop the Central Supply Store fall/winter clothing giveaway!  There are lots of new and gently used items to choose from, so please stop by the stage to check out what’s there.  The Clothing Store is open to all students and is a great way to stock up on a few extra items to keep you warm through the coming months.  This week, the stage will be open for shoppers during all lunch hours.  Beginning next week, it will be open each day from 1:00-1:30, or you may e-mail Mrs. Koerkenmeier at mkoerkenmeier@centralcougars.org to schedule an individual time to shop.

Attention Seniors: Does your family need help completing the FAFSA? Central will have a Financial Aid representative in the Computer Lab on November 10th from 5:30-7:30. Sign up for the open lab time is in the Class of 2021 google classroom in addition to materials needed for the evening. Anyone with questions, please see Miss Lohman.

Reminders to all students who need to attend a class remotely:

1) Students need to be on the Google Meet or Go Guardian video conference at the start of each class.  If students join late, it is extremely difficult for teachers to take accurate attendance.   Also, if students do not have an excuse for the tardy, then consequences will be issued similar to those for being late to an in-person class.

2) When attending classes remotely, students must use their centralcougars.org Google account.  If you log in with another account then you will be asked to leave the meeting and rejoin with the correct account.  Again, if this becomes a common occurrence for an individual student, then disciplinary action may be taken.

Juniors and Seniors - a few reminders for before school

  • We appreciate you waiting in your vehicles until 7:55; however, please make sure you are prepared to walk in the building and proceed straight to 1st hour.  This might require you to pack your backpack the day before in preparation for 1st hour.  If you do not enter the building until close to 8 am and still have to access your locker, you will be tardy to class.
