Central Community High School Registration and Start of School

Central Community High School has scheduled registration for incoming freshman and transfer students from August 4th through August 6th from 8:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. each day.  For the convenience of parents, we have also extended office hours on August 6th until 7:00 p.m.

All returning students (10th – 12th grades) will be able to register online through the Qmlativ Family Access Portal.   Online registration will be available starting on August 4th and parents will be emailed directions on how to complete this process.

If registering “in-person,” all Textbook Rental and Activity Fees can be paid by cash, check, credit card, or debit card.  If you register online, you will be able to pay all fees with either a debit or credit card via the Family Access Portal.  Returning students can also pay fees by cash or check in the main office.

If there have been any changes to your address, contact numbers, or emergency information, please be sure to update your child’s information during registration.  Please make sure to include your current email address for convenient communication with the school.  Forms to verify residency for new students will be available.  Information regarding textbook fees, food service charges, and other related matters can be found on the school website at www.centralcougars.org.   Central will also assist new families in utilizing the Qmlativ Student Management System, the 8to18 Athletics program, the school website, and other technology systems at the school during registration.

All seniors are now required to receive a meningococcal vaccination after the age of 16.  Please make sure your child has a record of this vaccination prior to the start of the school year.  Also, all incoming freshmen and transfer students must have a school physical (that was completed in the last calendar year) and up to date immunizations to begin school.  If you are enrolling a freshman or transfer student, please bring a current physical and shot record to registration.

If you have a student who has not attended Central or one of the local elementary districts feeding into Central, please contact the school office to schedule an appointment with the guidance counselors prior to registration.  This will assist us in obtaining necessary information from a transferring school and in developing a schedule of courses for your child.

Freshmen orientation is scheduled for Thursday, August 13th beginning at 5:00PM.  Due to the restrictions placed on the number of students we can have in one location, our Freshman Orientation will be for students only this year.  Unfortunately, we do not have the space available to also accommodate parents.  The schedule will be as follows:

Last Name:  A-G – 5:00-6:00

Last Name:  H-N – 6:00-7:00

Last Name:  O-Z – 7:00-8:00

Students will be touring classrooms and meeting teachers in an abbreviated schedule during the orientation.  After registration, your child’s course schedule can be found on the Qmlativ Family Access portal.  Please have your child bring their schedule to orientation.

The first day of school for freshman and sophomore students will be Monday, August 17 with an 8:00 a.m. start.  The first full day for all students (9-12) will be Tuesday, August 18th.  We chose for only 9th and 10th grade students to attend on the first day to help everyone get accustomed to our new “Before School” routines.  Again, due to space limitations, the students will be assigned an area to meet (such as the gym, commons, locker area, etc.) if they arrive to school prior to the 8:00AM bell.

If you are able, we are encouraging parents to drop their students off after 7:45AM.  We know that this is not possible for many parents and we will make arrangements for students who arrive early.  Also, if your student drives to school, we are encouraging them to stay in their vehicles until 7:55AM in order to limit large numbers of students in the building prior to the start of the school day.

If you have any questions concerning registration or the start of school, please call the C.C.H.S. Office at 526-4578.
